Abstract:
The internship is a mandatory form of postgraduate primary
specialisation for graduates of all faculties of higher education
institutions of III–IV accreditation levels. The main purpose
of the internship in surgery is to provide basic training for
graduates to work independently as doctors in the speciality of
surgery. After successful completion of the internship in surgery,
interns are awarded the qualification of a surgeon.
The importance of internship training is increasingly growing in view of the special requirements for graduates of medical higher education institutions: professionalism, activity,
communication skills based on mutual understanding, and
the ability to make quick decisions.
